Alcoa entered their tilt with Watertown on Wednesday with 17 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 18. They blew past the Purple Tigers 18-0. The Tornadoes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 games by six runs or more this season.

Makenna McCarter made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Tori Haun was a standout: she fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Burgess, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Alcoa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matches.

Alcoa's win was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 39-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Watertown, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-12.

Alcoa has already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Forrest on the 21st. As for Watertown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-4 victory against Milan on the 21st.
