Preview: Beecher Buccaneers vs. Bendle Tigers
Beecher is 10-0 against Bendle since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Beecher Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Bendle Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Beecher has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Beecher scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Bentley, posting a 77-40 victory at home. That looming 77-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Beecher yet this season.
Meanwhile, Bendle put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 73-53 margin over Clio. Given Bendle's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Clio is ranked 560th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bendle's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malik Neal, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Neal also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Malis Firman, who scored 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
The win got Beecher back to even at 2-2. As for Bendle, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
Everything came up roses for Beecher against Bendle in their previous matchup back in February as the squad secured a 71-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Beecher since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
