Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Mounties vs. Harper Creek Beavers

Northwest is 2-8 against Harper Creek since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Northwest Mounties will be playing at home against the Harper Creek Beavers at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Northwest is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 61-25 loss at the hands of Marshall. While losing is never fun, the Mounties can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Redhawks are ranked 119th).

Meanwhile, Harper Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Central on Tuesday and fell 49-46.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Harper Creek, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5.
