Basketball Recap: Cincinnati Trailblazers Homeschool's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ryle, Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bluegrass United Bluehawks by a score of 54-44. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trailblazers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Leading Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool to victory were Joseph Bradley and Sam Couch. Bradley almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds, while Couch went 5 of 10 on his way to 17 points. That's the most points Couch has posted since back in November of 2024. Luke Enders was another key player, putting up seven points.

Bluegrass United's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elliot Higginbotham, who posted ten points and eight boards. Higginbotham is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Charles, who scored 11 points.

Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Bluegrass United, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool will head out to square off against Woodward at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Woodward has lost six straight at home , while Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool has lost four on the road. Bluegrass United has already played their next game (against Madison Southern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
