Basketball Recap: Cumberland Comes Up Short

Cumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Smithfield Sentinels on the road by a 69-50 margin. The Clippers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sentinels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Cumberland's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Smithfield, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13.

Cumberland will welcome North Kingstown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cumberland is facing North Kingstown at the right time seeing as North Kingstown is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Smithfield has already played their next matchup (against Mt. Pleasant), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
