After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rossview, Loretto was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lewis County Panthers, sneaking past 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Loretto's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dillon Thompson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ben Lyles also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Loretto's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Lewis County, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Loretto by a score of 6-1 later that day.
