Volleyball Recap: Buford Beats Discovery for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Buford entered their tilt with Discovery on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Titans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Buford was: they took both sets by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-8.

Buford can attribute much of their success to Olivia Lewis, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most digs Lewis has posted since back in August. Emily Fernandez also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Buford was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive matches.

Buford's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Discovery, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Buford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Lanier on the 18th. As for Discovery, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Shiloh on the 18th.
