Baseball Recap: Dewey's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Dewey can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Sequoyah Indians. This was a revenge game for the Bulldoggers: when they faced off against the Indians on Thursday, they had to take a 13-8 defeat.

Layne Gastel made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since April 1st. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Chase Miller was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Parker Garrison was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Dewey's win bumped their record up to 19-13. As for Sequoyah, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Coming up, Dewey will challenge Barnsdall at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sequoyah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
