It was a proper cat-fight when Nitro duked it out with Capital on Friday. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 22-20 victory over the Cougars. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but the Wildcats were the (much) better team in the second half.

Those 143 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was MALACHI THOMPSON, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier East didn't have too much trouble with James Monroe on Friday as they won 29-14. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now won three in a row.

Nitro's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Greenbrier East, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Nitro against Greenbrier East in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-20 victory. In that matchup, the Wildcats amassed a halftime lead of 42-20, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
