Softball Recap: Southfield Arts & Tech Has No Trouble Against Ferndale

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cass Tech, Southfield Arts & Tech was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Ferndale Eagles with a sharp 14-1 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Kendall Evans, 2028 was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cienna Bell, 2028, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Hester, 2028, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

The victory got Southfield Arts & Tech back to even at 7-7. As for Ferndale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Southfield Arts & Tech beat the Eagles by a score of 10-9 later that day.
