New Mission has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will venture away from home to face off against the O'Bryant Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, New Mission finally turned things around against Cathedral on Friday. They won by a set and slipped past the Panthers 3-2.
Meanwhile, O'Bryant waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Jets 3-2.
O'Bryant took East Boston into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20, 15-9.
Among those leading the charge was Quynh Vo, who had 11 digs.
O'Bryant was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in 11 consecutive contests.
New Mission's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for O'Bryant, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
