Basketball Recap: Arcadia Takes a Loss

Arcadia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 80-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marcos de Niza Padres. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Padres apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Marcos de Niza got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was James Steward out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Steward is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Dana, who posted 25 points.

Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Marcos de Niza, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia has already played their next game (against Cactus Shadows), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marcos de Niza will challenge St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marcos de Niza knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully St. Mary's likes a good challenge.
