Baseball Game Preview: Coventry Christian vs. West Shore Christian Academy

Coventry Christian are headed away from home for the first time to face off against West Shore Christian Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.

Coventry Christian is leaving town to face West Shore Christian Academy after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Coventry Christian came up short against Conestoga Christian two weeks ago, falling 16-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Meanwhile, West Shore Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Lancaster Mennonite. While West Shore Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Connor Edwards made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Memphis Barron, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Coventry Christian might still be hurting after the 25-12 loss they got from West Shore Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Coventry Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
