Football Recap: Arthur County Wolves vs. Wallace Wildcats

Arthur County took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They breezed by the Wallace Wildcats at home to the tune of 71-20. That's more bragging rights for the Wolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Arthur County was led to victory by Kegan Allen and Talan Storer. Allen gained 95 total yards and four touchdowns, while Storer threw for 141 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Allen got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of68 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Grady Gorwill, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

Another reason for the win was Arthur County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. In that department, Brody Vinton was the leader with two. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making five total tackles.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Arthur County was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 425 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wallace only gained 200.

Although Wallace took the loss, they still got scores from Ashtin Johns, Ivan Aceves, and Tyson Sullivan.

Arthur County is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they square off against Medicine Valley on Thursday. Arthur County is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Wallace, they will square off against Creek Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wallace is looking for their season?s first victory.
