Football Game Preview: Bryan Vikings vs. Midway Panthers

The Bryan Vikings will head out to square off against the Midway Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bryan has struggled recently with eight defeats in a row, while Midway will arrive with three straight wins.

On Friday, Bryan ended up a good deal behind Temple and lost 31-14. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 131st).

Despite the loss, Bryan got top-tier performance from Jevalen Wade, who rushed for 168 yards and one score. With that strong performance, Wade is now averaging an impressive 112.7 rushing yards per game.

Meanwhile, Midway made easy work of Killeen on Friday and carried off a 49-26 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Bryan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Midway, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Bryan took a serious blow against Midway when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 64-21. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
