Basketball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 57-47 to the Hillsboro Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-26 back in December of 2024.

Hillsboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyra Boyd led the charge by going 7 for 15 on her way to 16 points and seven boards. Kobie Miles was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 18 points.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Hillsboro, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Blanchester the next time they take the court. Washington will head out to face Blanchester at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Hillsboro will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
