Elkhorn South is 6-1 against Omaha North since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. It'll be Northside v. Southside when the Elkhorn South Storm and the Omaha North Vikings meet at 7:15 p.m. Elkhorn South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.7 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Elkhorn South beat Benson 73-66.

The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Cooper Mroczek and Goanar Bamach. Mroczek had a great game and dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Meanwhile, Bamach was balling out in the loss, going 7 for 9 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.

Meanwhile, Omaha North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of Gretna. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Elkhorn South will have to contain Jerri'On Williams as he made an impact in Omaha North's last game. He went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. The game was Williams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ban Yor, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Omaha North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Omaha North's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Elkhorn South, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-9.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Elkhorn South hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.7 points per game. However, it's not like Omaha North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 59.6 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Elkhorn South came up short against Omaha North in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 64-59. Can Elkhorn South avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
