Basketball Game Preview: West Jefferson Panthers vs. Salmon Savages

The West Jefferson Panthers will square off against the Salmon Savages at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Jefferson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Salmon likes a good challenge.

West Jefferson is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Firth just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 72-65 to the Cougars.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salmon). They took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 78-22 win over Alturas Prep. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Savages with their most commanding win of the season.

West Jefferson now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Salmon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Everything came up roses for West Jefferson against Salmon when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 85-52 win. Will West Jefferson repeat their success, or does Salmon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
