Baseball Recap: Timberlake Gets the Win

While Timberlake's win against Bonners Ferry wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Badgers 10-9 on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Badgers: they've now won four in a row.

Ryker Brennan was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Timberlake's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-2 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Timberlake got a big performance out of Gage Tenney, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave Tenney a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Wylie, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Timberlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Timberlake's record now sits at 15-8. As for Bonners Ferry, they dropped their record down to 5-17 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Timberlake nor the Badgers have any future games scheduled.
