Volleyball Recap: Desert Vista Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Riley Sebastiani and Kalli Lipo

Desert Vista had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 14-16 to make it five. They fell just short of the Sunnyslope Vikings by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on October 2nd.

Despite the loss, Desert Vista had strong showings from Kalli Lipo, who had 26 digs and three aces, and Riley Sebastiani, who had 17 digs and three assists. With that strong performance, Lipo is now averaging an impressive 10.2 digs per game.

As for Sunnyslope, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-13 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 10th.

Sunnyslope was led to victory by Lainey Johnson and Emma Easton. Johnson had 24 digs and three assists, while Easton had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Easton has posted over her last six matches.

Desert Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Corona del Sol on the 30th. Sunnyslope does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
