Volleyball Recap: Southwest EC Takes a Loss

Southwest EC managed to slip by Montgomery the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Aztecs on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aztecs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Southwest EC was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 25-19.

Kaydence Wiewel paced Southwest EC's offense, picking up five kills. Wiewel really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with nine. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Southwest EC's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Southwest EC is taking a road trip to challenge Mountain Empire at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Montgomery has already played their next matchup (against High Tech Mesa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
