Quitman gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Simsboro Tigers. The win was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.

Hayden Davis looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Maddox Duck was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. The team also got some help courtesy of Kace West, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Simsboro now has a losing record at 0-1-1.

Coming up, Quitman will be playing at home against Calvary Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
