Baseball Recap: Caldwell County Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Caldwell County proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Trigg County Wildcats, sneaking past 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won four contests in a row.

Ari Wells was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Wells wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Caldwell County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Caldwell County pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Trigg County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Caldwell County will be playing at home against Hopkins County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Caldwell County their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Trigg County, they will venture away from home to take on Webster County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
