Glacier is a perfect 10-0 against Flathead since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wolfpack will host the Braves/Bravettes at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Glacier put up the most runs they have all season on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hellgate an 11-0 shutout. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Glacier let Cazz Rankosky and Karley Allen run wild. Rankosky went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Allen scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Allen has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Vivian, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Glacier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hellgate only posted a batting average of .111.
Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Flathead, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against Hellgate by a score of 10-6 on Thursday.
Lacie Franklin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 14 hits.
On the hitting side, Mackenzie Brandt was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Olivia Nyman, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Flathead's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Glacier, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Flathead's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Glacier has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Flathead, though, as they've been averaging 10.9 hits. Given Glacier's sizable advantage in that area, the Braves/Bravettes will need to find a way to close that gap.
Glacier took their victory against Flathead in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Braves/Bravettes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
