Basketball Recap: Indian Creek Triumphs

If Sullivan wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Indian Creek, they should've done a better job of containing Adam Crouch. The Indian Creek Braves snuck past the Sullivan Golden Arrows with a 65-59 win on Saturday which was due in part to Crouch, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 25 points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Landon Sichting was another key player, putting up 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He has become a key player for Indian Creek: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three steals, but 6-10 otherwise.

Sullivan's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paul Ridgway, who went 8-for-17 en route to 21 points and seven boards. Those 21 points gave Ridgway a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Bock, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

The victory got Indian Creek back to even at 10-10. As for Sullivan, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7.

Indian Creek has already played their next contest, a 63-57 win against South Putnam on the 28th. As for Sullivan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-56 loss against South Vermillion on the 25th.
