Newberry has gone a perfect 10-0 against Fairfield Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Griffins at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Newberry has six straight wins, Fairfield Central has 11 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Newberry barely beat Fox Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs never let the Predators get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday. Give Newberry's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Fairfield Central fell victim to Mid-Carolina and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Rebels. While losing is never fun, Fairfield Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Mid-Carolina are ranked 92nd).

Newberry's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four games. As for Fairfield Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went Newberry's way against Fairfield Central in their previous meeting back in March, as Newberry made off with a 7-0 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Griffins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
