Basketball Recap: Culver Academies Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

Culver Academies entered their tilt with Bremen on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Bremen Lions by a score of 56-45. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 42-31 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Culver Academies got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Piper Brumm out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Brumm a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Clemons, who made all 5 shots she took for 10 points and eight rebounds.

Culver Academies was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bremen only racked up eight assists.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Kincaid, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. Kincaid is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Grubbs, who went 7 of 16 on her way to 18 points.

Culver Academies' win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Bremen, they moved to 9-2 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Culver Academies will host LaVille at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bremen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bremen is facing Triton at the right time seeing as Triton is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
