Softball Recap: Ventura Cougars vs. Oxnard Yellowjackets
Ventura was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oxnard Yellowjackets. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 8-3.
Jessie Sebek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.
On the hitting side, Ventura saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubreona Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Ventura's record is now 14-11. As for Oxnard, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-10-1.
