Bloomfield won the last time they faced Washington and things went their way on Friday too. The Cardinals narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hatchets 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since April 10th.

Farrah Hostetter made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Hostetter wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bella McIntosh, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Bloomfield now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Washington, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bloomfield will face off against Shakamak at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Washington, they will take on Shoals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
