Softball Recap: Great Crossing Drops Highest Score of Season Against Western Hills

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Great Crossing). They never let the Western Hills Wolverines get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for Great Crossing in their matchups with Western Hills: they've now won five in a row.

Not much got past Kyleigh Harrison, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep Western Hills off the board. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Harrison.

On the hitting side, Emma Sutton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Aubrey Green was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Great Crossing now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Western Hills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Great Crossing will venture away from home to face off against Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Great Crossing surely won't give up without a fight. As for Western Hills, they will challenge North Oldham at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
