Basketball Recap: Tavin Jones Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Columbia hadn't done well against Bishop Kelly recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Columbia Wildcats put the hurt on the Bishop Kelly Knights with a sharp 73-47 victory. 73 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Columbia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tavin Jones, who shot 89% from the field on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Blake Hansen, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards.

Columbia was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 12-6 when they've passed the ball that well.

The victory made it two in a row for Columbia and bumps their season record up to 13-12. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24 points. As for Bishop Kelly, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.

Columbia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 77-51 win against Skyview on the 1st. Bishop Kelly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
