The Edisto Cougars will take on the Jefferson Davis Academy Raiders at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Edisto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1  runs per game  this season.
Edisto took a loss when they played away from home  on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Friday. They blew past Whale Branch 13-3. The  victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.
 Michael Myers made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those  nine  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Max Dempsey, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  double. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Wayne Felder, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Edisto  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in six consecutive  matchups.
Meanwhile, Jefferson Davis Academy came up short against Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Saturday and fell  4-1. The  contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring  game so far this season.
  Corbin Perry was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases and one  RBI.
 Edisto pushed their record up to 5-3 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Jefferson Davis Academy,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Jefferson Davis Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Edisto hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .380.
