Basketball Recap: St. Pauls Piles Up the Points Against Midway

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for St. Pauls on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Midway Raiders out of the water with a 59-12 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Zhari Shipman was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 13 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven steals and six assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Monroe, who posted 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: St. Pauls was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Midway only racked up three assists.

The win made it two in a row for St. Pauls and bumps their season record up to 14-3. As for Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

St. Pauls has already played their next matchup, a 66-44 victory against Clinton on the 29th. As for Midway, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-24 loss against Red Springs on the 29th.
