Softball Game Preview: New Kent Trojans vs. Jamestown Eagles

For the second straight game, New Kent will face off against Jamestown. The Trojans will challenge the Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. New Kent will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Jamestown's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Saturday: New Kent hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Trojans never let the Eagles get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Saturday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Jamestown's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Due, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

New Kent's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Jamestown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
