Basketball Game Preview: Academy for Classical Education Gryphons vs. Central Chargers

Academy for Classical Education hasn't had much luck against Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Academy for Classical Education Gryphons will challenge the Central Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Academy for Classical Education is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Saturday. They were beaten by Bleckley County 66-38. While losing is never fun, the Gryphons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 480th, while the Royals are ranked 225th).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 30-30 at halftime, Central was not quite Southwest's equal in the second half on Saturday. They lost to the Patriots on the road by a 66-52 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.

Academy for Classical Education's record is now 7-13. As for Central, their record now sits at 8-13.
