Recap: Incarnate Word Academy Angels vs. Veritas Academy
The Incarnate Word Academy Angels stacked a 13th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 53-23 win over Veritas Academy. The victory was familiar territory for Incarnate Word Academy who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Emma Romanczyk, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Lily Herandez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Incarnate Word Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. As for Veritas Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Incarnate Word Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Brentwood Christian at 6:15 p.m. on January 26th. Brentwood Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 910th, while Incarnate Word Academy is ranked 312th). Veritas Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
