The Bristol-Plymouth RVT Craftsmen will challenge the Southeastern RVT Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.
Bristol-Plymouth RVT fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Tri-County RVT on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Craftsmen in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Gabrianna Arrighi spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Shelby Estrella was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Bree Aldrich was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Southeastern RVT's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Diman RVT by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hawks have suffered since April 9th.
Becca Hornung put in work while hitting and pitching. She struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. Hornung was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Abby Spencer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cienna Maldonado, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Bristol-Plymouth RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Southeastern RVT, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bristol-Plymouth RVT has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 12.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southeastern RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 13.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
