Basketball Preview: Dodge City Demons vs. Great Bend Panthers
Dodge City has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Great Bend Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Dodge City is ranked 92nd, while the Panthers are ranked 67th).
Last Friday, Dodge City lost to the Indians at home by a decisive 49-32 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dodge City has scored all season.
Meanwhile, even though Liberal scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Great Bend still came out on top. Great Bend walked away with a 70-62 victory over the Redskins.
Dodge City's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Great Bend, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Dodge City came up short against the Panthers when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 54-43. Can Dodge City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
