Softball Recap: Lodi Triumphs

Lodi won the last time they faced St. Mary and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Flames came out on top against the Rams by a score of 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flames.

Ashlyn Jubrey made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ellie Schallberger, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary's struck out 15 times.

Lodi's record is now 17-6. As for St. Mary's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lodi will square off against rival Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Mary's is set to challenge their familiar foe Tracy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
