Basketball Recap: Arlington Falls Short Against Ranked Bartlett

On Friday, Arlington faced Bartlett in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Arlington Tigers took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bartlett Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, Arlington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore RJ Tate went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc to rack up 25 points. The game was Tate's sixth in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Mcentire, who posted eight points.

Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Bartlett, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arlington will face off against Germantown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arlington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.3 points per game this season. As for Bartlett, they will head out to face off against Collierville at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bartlett knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Collierville likes a good challenge.
