Football Recap: Somerset Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Somerset Academy was feeling good fresh off their 35-0 takedown of Stranahan last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions. The game marked the first time this season in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Tyson Baier threw for 112 yards while completing 71.4% of his passes. Kaj Baker was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Immaculata-La Salle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Cox, who rushed for 57 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also caught one score. Another signal caller making a difference was Nate Merrell Jr., who threw for 127 yards and three TDs while completing 90.9% of his passes.

Somerset Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Somerset Academy and Immaculata-La Salle should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Panthers will take on Pompano Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (266 vs. 549). Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle (ranked 136th) will meet Miami Springs (ranked 428th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
