Volleyball Recap: Glendale Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Glendale was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Neosho last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Republic Tigers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered against the Tigers since September 7, 2021.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Republic scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.

Glendale's offense was headlined by Ivy Flinn and Elle Givens, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Klaire Miner and her nine assists. Finally, Cheyenne Cheadle kept Glendale's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Republic found their leader in sophomore Chloe Pullan, who had 13 assists and six digs.

Glendale's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Republic, the victory got them back to even at 9-9-1.

Looking ahead, Glendale will be playing at home against Willard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Republic, they are taking a road trip to challenge Webb City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
