Basketball Game Preview: Ocean Lakes Dolphins vs. Oscar Smith Tigers

The Ocean Lakes Dolphins are taking a road trip to face off against the Oscar Smith Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

Ocean Lakes lost 56-32 to Salem on Friday. The Dolphins have struggled against the Sundevils recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Ocean Lakes' loss came about despite a quality game from Samara Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 19 boards. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 21 times she's played. Erin Broderick was another key player, putting up six points.

Even though they lost, Ocean Lakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Oscar Smith waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 37-27 win over the Truckers.

Ocean Lakes now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Oscar Smith, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.

Everything came up roses for Ocean Lakes against Oscar Smith in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, as the squad secured a 74-40 win. Does Ocean Lakes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oscar Smith turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
