Softball Recap: Maple Hill Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

There's no place like home for Maple Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top against the Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks on Monday by a score of 2-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Riverhawks back in April, they had to take a 8-7 defeat.

Not much got past Madison Camadine, who gave up just a hit to keep Coxsackie-Athens off the board. Camadine has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maple Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quinn Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Wilson has posted since back in April.

Maple Hill pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Coxsackie-Athens, they moved to 6-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Maple Hill will host Troy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coxsackie-Athens, they are taking a road trip to square off against Rensselaer at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
