Basketball Game Preview: Wayne Blue Devils vs. Wynot Blue Devils

The Wayne Blue Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Wynot Blue Devils on Thursday.

Wayne is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Wahoo, who was ranked 13th at the time (Wayne was ranked 23rd). The match between Wayne and Wahoo didn't end well, with Wayne falling 64-48. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Wynot was able to grind out a solid victory over Randolph on Friday, taking the game 60-49. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 18-4. As for Wynot, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Wayne was able to grind out a solid win over Wynot when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 60-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wayne since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
