Recap: Mason County Royals vs. Rowan County Vikings
The Mason County Royals were the 80-54 winner over the Rowan County Vikings when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Mason County fell 86-77 to Rowan County on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Rowan County to victory were Brayden Mirus and Colby Wilburn. Mirus scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals, while Wilburn scored 33 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Winkleman, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals.
Mason County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Rowan County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Greenup County the next time they take the court. Mason County will head out to face Greenup County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Rowan County will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
