Football Game Preview: Elysian Fields Yellowjackets vs. Big Sandy Wildcats

The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to face off against the Big Sandy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Elysian Fields has six straight victories, Big Sandy has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Elysian Fields barely beat Union Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets blew past the Lions 49-22 on Friday. Considering the Yellowjackets have won five contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Big Sandy faced off against Beckville on Friday. The Wildcats were dealt a 56-0 defeat at the hands of the Bearcats.

Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Elysian Fields, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Elysian Fields came up short against Big Sandy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 25-20. Thankfully for the Yellowjackets, Lurbryson Ross (who rushed for 165 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 33 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
