Volleyball Game Preview: St. John Fighting Herald vs. Open Door Christian Patriots

The St. John Fighting Herald will head out on the road to square off against the Open Door Christian Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

St. John came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Cardinal, falling 3-0. The Fighting Herald's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cardinal scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Open Door Christian had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Red Wolves with a sharp 3-0 win.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-8, 25-16.

St. John's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Open Door Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

St. John beat Open Door Christian 3-1 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will the Fighting Herald repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
