Basketball Recap: Henryville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lanesville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Henryville). They blew past the Lanesville Eagles 64-43 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Hornets have posted since February 20th.

Landon Dobbs was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 11 boards. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Owens, who posted 18 points and five rebounds.

Henryville was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lanesville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolin Pearce, who put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolyn Hall, who earned eight points.

Henryville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Lanesville, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henryville will welcome Brown County at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Lanesville, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Henryville at 12:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
