Basketball Recap: Block Island Takes a Loss

Block Island played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Central Falls/Blackstone Valley Prep, falling 53-20. Block Island has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Block Island saw an underclassman step up: freshman ELIZABETH EVANS posted four points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. EVANS has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Block Island's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Central Falls/Blackstone Valley Prep, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Block Island will welcome Burrillville at 12:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Falls/Blackstone Valley Prep, they will be playing at home against North Providence at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. North Providence is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
